The Crop Bioengineering Center's annual Fall Members Meeting will be on December 16th at Reiman Gardens(Garden Room) in Ames, Iowa.

    "Genes, genomes, and genies: What we've learned (so far) about soybean biotechnology" 
    Dr. Bob Stupar is a Professor at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics. He received his B.S. from the University of Minnesota (Biology) and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin (Plant Breeding & Plant Genetics) working with Jiming Jiang, followed by a postdoc at the University of Minnesota with Nathan Springer. He joined the UMN faculty in 2008 with a 75% Research and 25% Teaching appointment. His research program focuses on legume genomics, specializing in gene function, genetic resources development, and applying modern approaches to crop improvement. He has received awards for both teaching and research, including the CSSA Young Crop Scientist Award and the Richard Bernard Mid-Career Award.
